Raid attendees are expected to understand and comply with these policies. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a Alruism Officer by pm or in-game.
Signups:
- Signups are to be posted on the game calendar.
- Raids will be posted on a weekly basis so please signup for raids by posting accepted or declined as early as humanly possible.
- If you can only come late or need to leave early, please say make the Raid Leader aware of this before the raid starts, so the he/she can plan accordingly.
The Raid Crew:
- The Raid Leader has absolute discretion in who is included in that evening's raid. The raid will be designed with the primary goal of raid success. Once the RL believes he has achieved the necessary group composition to allow for success, he or she will take into account other considerations such as gear needs.
- Attendance will be tracked.
- Members who can maintain an attendance of 2/3 or better will receive priority for raid slots as the group composition allows. Alts will not be scheduled for raiding unless specifically requested by a raid leader to fill a needed role.
- Putting together a successful raid is difficult and time consuming. Please try to understand that you may not always get what you want. If you have a serious concern, please respectfully PM or discuss with a raid leader.
- The officers may schedule friends and family runs of below tier or deep farm content, if time and interest permit. Alts and off-specs will be allowed to signup for these runs.
Bench: All Raiders have to be prepared to sit bench from time-to-time. If you are not on the main raid but are put on the bench, your main must be ready to go at any moment. This is vitally important as not to waste the other 24 players time due to benched player having to get what he/she needs to raid before being summoned in.
Punctuality:
- Please be at the instance ten minutes before the designated start time.
- Please let the raid leader know well in advance if you will be just in time.
- If you get unexpectedly hung up and will miss or be late for a raid, please let a raid leader know via pm on the website or through in game mail.
- Habitual lateness or no-showing without the prior notification of a raid leader will not be tolerated.
Loot: Altruism uses an EPGP system. Information on this system is on our Member's Forums. As are the links for the add on which we all use, which is a must get due to it being how we not only give out points but also distribute loot to our members. Upon joining the Guild any Guild Councillor or the GM will be more than happy to show you where these links are and how the add on works.
Mains and Dual Specs: You must declare one toon as your main for the purposes of raiding. This character has invite priority over your other characters. The choice of a main is not irrevocable, but you must talk to an officer about the change, and changes must be kept in place for four weeks.
We will do exploit the Dual Spec system from time to time to give our raids maximum flexibility. Characters who can play a dual role (tank/dps or heals/dps) will be asked to learn both play styles and to build both gear sets. For each character with a dual role, a main spec and an off-spec is to be designated.
Etiquette and Attitude: Normal guild rules regarding etiquette apply. We ask that you show respect for your fellow members, both in raid chat and vent. Please respect the raid leader also. If you have a suggestion, do not interrupt the raid leader while he or she is speaking. Also, keep vent chat to a minimum during boss explanations and fights so that instructions can be heard.
All members are expected to perform to the best of their abilities and are accountable for their play. You must adhere to the strategies and instructions given by the raid leaders. Everyone is expected to have a deep understanding of their class and spec. Members should seek out information from sources outside of the game or from other players in the game as often as possible. Everyone must be open to receiving constructive criticism and be willing to give constructive criticism when appropriate or asked. Everyone's goal should be to improve their play and increase the synergy of the raid group.
Raid Preparedness: All members signing up for raids are expected to adhere to the following guidelines for raid preparedness to ensure a smooth run. Habitual failure to adhere to these standards for preparedness will result in a drop from future raids.
- You must bring a full set of consumables for your class/spec to every run. This includes, but may not be limited to, flasks (or equivalent battle/guardian elixirs), potions (mana/healing/buff), bandages, buff foods, reagents.
- Have all of our required addons loaded and up to date before the raid begins. These are Omen, Decursive (if appropriate), and Bigwigs or Deadly Boss Mods or VBM (preferred).
- You must be properly geared for our current level of content, and all gear must be gemmed and enchanted appropriately for your class/spec.
- You must be glyphed appropriately for your class/spec.
- Study any boss strategies posted by the raid leader prior to showing up for a raid. This includes reading any special notes left by the raid leader on the forum.
- Become familiar with boss loot lists and know your desired upgrades for the planned content so that we can avoid delays in handing out loot.
- Make sure you have any encounter-specific gear, macros, and addons ready before the raid begins.
- Listen on vent in the proper channel at all times.
